There is a shortage of affordable housing in Regensburg, especially for young families and older people. To counteract this, the city is planning an innovative neighbourhood based on the 15-minute city model on the former site of the Prinz Leopold barracks. The focus is on subsidised social housing, cooperative housing and building cooperatives. Due to the current crisis, the start of construction has been postponed until 2025. A workshop on communal forms of housing will be offered at the Baukulturtage in Regensburg to provide practical insights and support for interested parties. The focus will be on co-operative living and building communities, particularly with regard to living in old age. Such forms of housing are designed to prevent loneliness, be sustainable and reduce the need for resources, something that other local authorities are increasingly recognising and promoting. 16.00 Networking & cooperation for housing in old age Konstantin Bauch, afa & Institute for Social Planning Munich 16.30-18.30 Information & exchange on the various housing formats A4F with advice from the Mietshäusersyndikat 18.30 Prof. Dr Benedikt Boucsein Cooperative Urban Design, TUM, Department of Architecture, TUM School of Engineering and Design 19.00 Questions / Break @ Apero 19.30 Panel 1 – Topic Co-operatives Seekers (Benedikt Geisler) & experienced panellists (Ulrich von Spießen, WIR-Projekt and Michael Kroll, Contemplan GmbH & RaumFair eG) 20.15 Panel 2 – Topic building cooperatives Seekers (Petra Bäuml) & Experienced panellists (Brunner family, Aureliaweg, Burgweinting and Michael Kroll, Contemplan GmbH & RaumFair eG) 21.00 How to architect the Future/ Get together
