NAQ (Nobody Answers Questions) is the dialogue between a musician and a projectionist, turned into an audio-visual journey, where sound and image grow, vibrate and dance together like a storm on the water. Sometimes it feels like Ippio Payo, who here builds complex live looped krautrock arrangements, conducts the terms of the dramaturgy. But a splash of color, a frenetic movement or a majestic sweep of light across the stage by video artist Genelabo reasserts that this is indeed a very intricate conversation, the fruit of over 19 years of collaboration between the artists. Together, they pull the audience in their interwoven performance like a storm swallows a ship, a tempest where time becomes elastic and questions hang in the air between waves of intensity : What comes next? How much more can I take? The artists here are as inextricable as lightning and thunder, creating both anticipation and cathartic release. Because sometimes questions need to be asked, but not answered.

In der Performance geht es um eine imaginäre Reise im Jahr 1943. von der Insel Vis (Dalmatien, Kroatien) im Unterdeck eines Schiffes über Süditalien bis zum Wüsten Ort El Shatt auf der ägyptischen Halbinsel Sinai, welches zu dieser Zeit unter britischer Verwaltung stand. Während des zweiten Weltkrieges wurde in El Shatt ein Flüchtlingslager für 30.000 ziviler Flüchtlinge (Familienmitglieder der antifaschistischen Partisanenbewegung) aus Dalmatien (damals eine Region Jugoslawiens im heutigen Kroatien) errichtet. Diese waren vor der Offensive der deutschen Wehrmacht, welche Ende 1943/ Anfang 1944 ganz Dalmatien besetzte, aus Angst vor Strafverfolgungen geflohen. Hier lebten die Flüchtlinge vom 2.Febr. 1944 bis zum 20. März 1946.
